BlackBerry Q10 launched in India at Rs 44,990

New Delhi: BlackBerry Thursday launched its much-awaited Q10 smartphone in the country at a premium price of Rs 44,990 targetting high-end customers.

It will be available for sale in 20 cities across 1,000 stores from tomorrow.

"BlackBerry Q10 is a premium phone for power users who have to handle multiple calls, send out numerous mail and look for high quality. The phone is priced at Rs 44,990," Blackberry Managing Director for India, Sunil Lalvani said while unveiling the product.

The new BlackBerry phone has both touch-screen and QWERTY keypad which is different from other high-end smartphones that are only touch-screen.

"We have done a global survey. There are many high end people who still prefer QWERTY keypad for typing. They don't enjoy typing on glass and this phone is for that class," Lalvani said.

The BlackBerry Q10 has dual-core chipset with processing speed of 1.5 gigahertz, 8 megapixel auto-focus enable rear camera and 2 megapixel front camera that can be used for video calling. The phone supports 3G services and also has technology to support 4G services while a person is on international roaming on certain networks.

Lalvani added that the phone is built on carbon fibre instead of plastic and every Q10 device sold by company will have different design on its back cover.

The phone can be purchased at monthly installment scheme spread across 9 months which is applicable on other devices built on its BB 10 platform.

For corporate customers, BlackBerry Q10 buyers will get additional benefit of 1 year subscription of enterprise mobility management services for free. These services are meant for corporate customers of BlackBerry who use its servers for business communications.

Angelina Jolie flaunts sexy, strapless dress at Brad Pitt`s movie premiere

London: Angelina Jolie looked stunning and sexy in a white strapless dress at the Berlin premiere of her fiancé Brad Pitt `s `World War Z` on June 4, 2013, her 38th birthday.

Her long, brunette hair was curled into soft waves, and she beamed as she posed next to Pitt, 49, on the red carpet.

The Berlin premiere was Jolie`s third official appearance after her double mastectomy and breast reconstruction surgery.

DSP murder: CBI wants lie detector test on Raja Bhaiya

Lucknow: The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI), which is investigating the murder case of Kunda Deputy Superintendent of Police Zia-ul-Haque, has sought permission from the special court for conducting a lie detection test on former Uttar Pradesh minister Raghuraj Pratap Singh alias Raja Bhaiya.

Reports on Thursday claimed that the CBI wants to collect more evidence against Raja Bhaiya, who is also one of the key accused in the case.

Last month, the CBI sleuths grilled Raja Bhaiya for over 20 hours over a span of two days. However, the former minister was allowed to return as the probe agency could not find any credible evidence to seek his custody.

If the court gives its permission for the polygraph test, the CBI hopes that it would be able to crack the murder mystery and the larger conspiracy of the killings of the DSP and two others.

Haque's wife Parveen Azad had accused Raja Bhaiya of being involved in the murder case. The allegations forced him to resign from as Minister of Food and Civil Supplies from the Akhilesh Yadav government in March.

Haque was killed on March 2 in Pratapgarh district where he had gone to probe a village headman's murder. An angry mob reportedly cornered him, and eight policemen who were with him allegedly abandoned him. Three bullets were fired - one killed Haque; the other two killed headman Nanhe Yadav's brother.

The CBI later registered four cases pertaining to the three murders and booked Raja Bhaiya in one of them.

Raja Bhaiya, who has a lengthy criminal record, has denied the allegations against him.

The CBI last month filed a chargesheet against five people but did not name Raja Bhaiya.

Mukesh Bhatt predicts bright future for Poonam Pandey

Mumbai: Filmmaker Mukesh Bhatt is so much impressed with director Amit Saxena-directed erotica ‘Nasha’ that he feels it will be a landmark movie in controversial model Poonam Pandey`s career.

"For her (Poonam) this film will be very important because the way he (Amit Saxena) will present her in the film, nobody would be able to do that," Bhatt told reporters here Wednesday during the first-look launch of the movie.

Saxena had earlier directed Bhatt camp`s 2003 production venture "Jism" that featured Bipasha Basu and John Abraham. The success of the erotic thriller catapulted Bipasha`s career and she entered the league of A-list actresses of that time.

Poonam, who made headlines during the 2011 Cricket World Cup when she offered to go nude before Team India if they won the trophy, is foraying into films with "Nasha".

Produced by Aditya Bhatia, "Nasha" revolves around an 18-year-old boy and a 25-year-old girl.

"I am confident that after this film, she (Poonam) will have a very bright future ahead," said Bhatt.

Reportedly, Poonam has even stripped for a couple of scenes in the film.

On being asked about such exposures by the actresses and newcomers on the big screen, Bhatt said: "There is nothing wrong in (exposing and showing off). If you have a beautiful body and show it, there is nothing wrong in it."

"Who are you and I to take any moral stand on that," he asked.

Bhatt feels that actors deliver according to the script.

"It`s the need of the script and you are an actor, so you have to deliver what the script demands and that`s what you are supposed to do," he explained.

Rohit starts the sixth over with a hit over point for a six. Tsotsobe bowls a wide length delivery for which he is punished. The last ball is again a length delivery which Dhawan punches between covers and mid-off for the best shot of the morning. Young Indian openers are off to a steady start.

India: 13/0 | Overs 4 | Rohit 6*, Dhawan 5*

Rohit gets on the groove with a sublime cover-drive. The balance while playing the shot was excellent. The front foot is going to the ball in confident fashion. Tsotsobe bowled a couple of wides down the leg-side. He was a tad loose compared to his first over.

India: 7/0 | Overs 3 | Rohit 2*, Dhawan 5*

Morkel bowls in the corridor of uncertainty. South Africa have designed a Test match like fielding - a couple of slips are waiting to catch Dhawan's edge. Morkel is bowling an incessant line around off-stump. The last ball was on the pads which Dhawan worked for a couple of runs.

India: 5/0 | Overs 2 | Rohit 2*, Dhawan 3*

Lonwabo Tsotsobe begins the first over with tight line outside off-stump. Rohit leaves the deliveries.
